Privacy Policy
Effective October 8, 2026
This policy explains what information suan.fm (“the site”, “we”, “us”) handles when you use it, and why. The site does one thing: you paste a link to a song on Spotify, and it finds that song on YouTube.
YouTube API Services
The site uses YouTube API Services to search YouTube. Google’s use of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. By using the site, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
What we collect and how we use it
- The link you paste. We use it once, to find the song. Our server reads the song’s public title and artists from Spotify, then sends a search made of those artists and that title to YouTube API Services. We do not store the link, the song or the results.
- Your IP address. Your browser sends it with every request, as it does for any website. We use it only to limit how many searches one person can make in a minute, which protects the site from abuse. That counter lasts about a minute and is not linked to anything else.
- Technical logs. For each search, our server records only whether it worked and how long it took. It does not record the link, the song, the results or your IP address. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes request details such as your IP address, the page you ask for and your browser type to deliver and protect the site. We keep the site’s logs for at most 7 days and use them only to keep the site working and secure.
We do not have accounts, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Cookies and information on your device
The site does not place, read or recognize cookies or similar technologies, such as local storage, on your device, and it does not let third parties do so through the site.
YouTube data
The search results (video titles, channel names, thumbnails and links) come from YouTube API Services. We show them to you as YouTube returns them and do not store them. They are gone when you leave or reload the page.
Who else receives information
- Spotify. Our server asks Spotify for the song’s public page. The request comes from our server, not from your browser, and does not include your IP address.
- Google (YouTube API Services). Our server sends the search (the artists and the title) to YouTube API Services. The request does not include your IP address or the link you pasted.
- YouTube image servers. Your browser loads video thumbnails directly from YouTube (i.ytimg.com). Google receives your IP address and browser details when it serves them, as the Google Privacy Policy describes.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and delivers it to your browser.
When you follow a link to YouTube or Spotify, their own privacy policies apply. We do not sell information or share it for advertising. No third party shows ads or other content on the site, apart from the YouTube thumbnails described above.
Changes
If we change this policy, we post the new version here and update the date at the top.
